Aussie Missing near Fbx for 6 weeks is FOUND in 30 below cold

Pooch on the lam rescued in 30 below cold

Fairbanks man saves  frost-bitten dog on loose for 6 months.  Wasilla Turnagain Aussie's Malissa Cole is breathing a huge sigh of relief tonight after she learned that one of the Australian Shepherd Puppies from her kennel reported missing 6 weeks ago has been found and is safe and sound.  Malissa says Pauly will live in the lap of luxury for the rest of his life after surviving such an ordeal.  The road to recovery is long; but Pauly has already proven his mettle.

Pauly owes his life to Jay Andrews, who pulled him out of a roadside ditch after spotting the frozen fugitive alongside Chena Ridge Road in Fairbanks.

Andrews was bitten three or four times through his gloves as he removed the dog from a hole and deposited him in the bed of his pickup, cushioning him on absorbent oil spill pads.

Pauly ran away in August, just three days after being adopted by a Fairbanks family from Turnagain Aussies in Wasilla.

Andrews said he stopped Tuesday because he knew there was no way a dog could live out there in minus 30 degrees.
